Lymphoedema Services

Lymphoedema Services in many areas are being cut or no longer exist.

In Some areas of the UK Hospices are closing down. In other areas the Lymphoedema Services that were provided by local hospices are being transferred to Community Wound Services.

Why does this concern Irate to Educate. As a breast cancer survivor Fiona Stevenson along with other experts with lived experience of Lymphoedema know what the Lymphoedema Service was like back in the early 2000s. Mnual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) was offered free of charge to patients that required this service. Compression garments were readily available off the shelves.

As the years have progressed the service has declined with cuts in funding. This is leaving patients with a chronic condition left struggling to find the help they need.
